SINGAPORE: Eastbound train services between Queenstown and Outram Park MRT stations were disrupted for about 45 minutes Tuesday morning when a passenger was hit by a train at Redhill MRT Station.
SMRT said the incident happened at around 11.35am.
To maintain eastbound service at the unaffected sections, it said some westbound trains were turned around at Outram Park MRT Station.
Bus bridging services was also activated to ferry passengers from Queenstown MRT Station to Redhill, Tiong Bahru and Outram Park MRT stations.
SMRT said 13 buses were activated.
Close to 5,500 passengers were affected by the incident and train services resumed at about 12.20pm.
Passengers who were unable to complete their journeys due to the disruption can claim a full fare refund from the Passenger Service Centre in any of the 69 SMRT stations within the next three working days.
SMRT says it's helping Police with investigations. – CNA/jy
