42 involved in illicit activities at Sembawang forest

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested 42 suspects for wilful trespass in Sembawang forest, following a five-hour long operation which ended in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The 27 men and 15 women of various nationalities were believed to be engaging in illicit activities like prostitution and gambling.
They were caught at the forested area along Admiralty Road West and Sembawang Drive, in a joint operation by officers from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division, the Criminal Investigation Department, Police K-9 unit, and the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority.
If found guilty of wilful trespass under the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act, the suspects may face a fine of up to $1,000.
Investigations against the suspects are ongoing.
