It seems the big banks are in trouble.
Citibank, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, Deutsch banks are all
reporting losses and looking for money from govt.
This friday..watch out for more volatility in the financial markets.

You're rite bro, it's the same iceberg, only the water level's going down and we're now seeing the hugeness that it really is.

Or, the melting of the iceberg is gathering speed, and the water levels will rise, and we'll all be waiting for that tsunami.

Either way, deep shit!

U know, if big chunks of ice fall from icebergs, these can create tsunamis too

Holy cow! This is terrible.

I guess Warren Buffett was right when he said that the crisis was a third over when the two banks collapse.

Is AIG going to go to hell?

He knows because he is willing to accept the reality, accept the paper losses and prepare himself for the turnaround.

Hope our Gov have the same foresight. But looking at all the blunder they made in the past, we are not very optimistic, their "I know better and you don't question so much" attitude will get us all burn.

Your favorite country usa is in deep shit. Her banks go broke before the Chinese banks even though usa have been always trumpeting that Chinese bank is going to fail soon. :oIo:

With tens of billion to hundreds of billion of toxic assets held by all these top financial institutions...they are technically bankcrupt....whatever the us gov do ..they still have to recognised the astronomical losses of all these debt and derivative papers...........
Usa is already a bankcru8pt nation ..can only print more us$ notes.......
Us$ will plunge soon..watch out.......!!!!!!!
Many nations that have bought us debts and us based assets will suffer huge ,unrecoverable losses....

You can be sure that despite US sending Geithner's trip to Beijing to suck up to the Chinese and the corresponding pledge of confidence in the US $, Beijing has been trying to find alternatives to park their huge reserves. Look to the Chinese throwing they financial clout into gold, commodities (just read their investments and tie ups with the various energy producers).
