An American diplomat in Vladivostok, Russia, Mr Douglas Kent, was involved in a car accident that left a young man Mr Alexandra Kashin, crippled.
The consul-general's sports utility vehicle collided with Mr Kashin's car. Under orders from the US Embassy in Moscow, Mr Kent, using his diplomatic immunity, did not submit to a blood alcohol test. He was not arrested and left the country soon afterwards.
What happened:Though Mr Kashin wanted to sue Mr Kent in a Californian court, the American was never prosecuted. The US Court of Appeals ruled in 2006 that he was acting within the scope of his employment when the accident took place. So, the case was dismissed..............is this where justice ends........
