Hence the acceleration in replacing Sporns with FTrash! By the next GE, expect the Papayas' strategy to include overwhelming Sporns with the so-called grateful "New Citizens"!

The day began with a short hymn “Amazing Grace” sang in commemoration of opposition icon Mr J.B. Jeyaretnam who passed away last year and a one minute silence as respect of him.
The panel of speakers comprises of a good mix of leaders from various opposition parties, civil society and the blogging community. The Workers’ Party was conspicuous by their absence. According to SDP, their invitation was turned down by WP Chairman Sylvia Lim due to other “committments”. NSP Sebastian Teo and SPP Desmond Lim were initially slated as speakers, but were unable to turn up as they have personal matters to attend to.
Speakers spoke at length on the importance of greater opposition unity and collaboration to mount a serious challenge to the ruling incumbent so as to provide a viable alternative government for Singapore.

a good start but the wrong footing... opposition should not start with a viable alternative govt but rather to deny the pap 2/3 majority... knn... the hatred is getting to the head of these opposition people...

Judging from singaporean interest in having alternative party in parliament, i am not surprise that out of 100 who attended
25 are from isd
another 25 are from YPAP another 25 are from grassroot and fifteen from plain cloth pplice and the rest are retirees who have nothing to loose or already lost something thus being there is just to vent their anger

Got to aim high. Presenting a viable alternative govt strategy means opposition parties have really prepare to have shadow cabinets with concrete alternative sound policies. This gives greater credibility to opposition parties.

They should really get serious and target weak GRCs with unpopular Ministers. Toppling one or more GRCs and the Domino effect will see PAP Ministers start to lose their nerve and break ranks.

By aiming high, the opposition parties might perhaps deny the PAP the 2/3s majority in a closely fought GE. By aiming low; hoping to deny 2/3s majority will result in a result like the BY ELECTION tactic ending up with the same PP and HG wards again.
