A 25-year-old Latvian national was reported to the police for molesting a waitress at Bayfront Avenue.
He then tried to bribe police officers in exchange for not being arrested.
The police said the incident happened around 3am at an entertainment outlet on November 11.
While being interviewed by police officers, the suspect turned violent, and was arrested.
He then offered the police $1,000 in cash and asked to be let off.
The officers ignored him and brought him to the police vehicle, while he continued to behave in a rowdy and violent manner.
While inside the police vehicle, the suspect again offered money to one of the officers in exchange for letting him go.
At this point, a police officer rejected the offer and warned the suspect that action would be taken against him for offering a bribe to a public servant.
The suspect continued to try bribing the officers.
He was brought back to the Central Police Division, and charged in court on November 12 for disorderly behaviour and outrage of modesty.
The Corrupt Practices Investigations Bureau (CPIB) is also investigating the suspect for attempting to bribe the police officer.
