US F-15 fighter jet crashes into sea off Okinawa in southern Japan

A US fighter jet has crashed into the sea off Japan.
The US Air Force F-15C Eagle jet came down off Okinawa, in the south of the country
The jet was from the Kadena airbase in Okinawa, Japan's Kyodo news agency reported.
The incident occurred shortly after 6.30am on Monday morning.
The pilot managed to eject from the aircraft and was safely recovered by search and rescue teams, the air base later confirmed in a tweet.
The crash comes as US president Donald Trump travelled to East Asia for historic talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

A US fighter jet has crashed into the sea off Japan.
The US Air Force F-15C Eagle jet came down off Okinawa, in the south of the country
