</TR><!-- headline one : end --><!-- show image if available --></TBODY></TABLE>

<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->I REFER to the Forum Online letters by Ms Olivia Siow ('Adult content in play not highlighted in brochures', July 13) and Madam Wee Hua Boey ('Horrified by many profanities in matinee show on NS life', July 14) regarding theatre group Wild Rice's production, Own Time Own Target.
We would like to thank the writers for their feedback and regret that the strong language in the play made them uncomfortable.
The production reflects real life experiences of national service (NS) and the language is part and parcel of that experience. In the musical Botak Boys, the NS recruits vehemently question and object to their superiors' use of such language in a song with the lines: 'Why are our superiors so crude?...Why are our superiors so obscene?'
Wild Rice always looks to ensure that its audience is informed of any advisory before purchasing tickets for a show.
The Media Development Authority's (MDA) advisory regarding the strong language and adult themes (suitable for 16 years and above) in Own Time Own Target was received on April 8 and included in all advertising and e-mail messages produced by Wild Rice. This was also on our website.
In addition, it is ticketing service provider Sistic's policy to inform customers of any advisory at the point of purchase. This includes purchases through its authorised agents, telephone hotline or website. The advisory is also displayed at the point of entry to the theatre.
Unfortunately, we were unable to include the advisory in the brochures as they had gone to print prior to receiving the official notification from the MDA. But we did ensure that the audience was made aware of this advisory at every subsequent opportunity.
Once again, we thank the writers for their feedback and support. Wild Rice aims, as always, to present relevant theatre productions that challenge, inspire, educate and entertain.

Ang Mohs do not serve NS. They screwed gals whose boyfriends are doing NS.

They purposely made the locals looked cheap in the play, so that they themselves appeared more superior & attractive. Sicked Angmohs.

Dear Mak Apa.

You could have titled this as, "Wild Rice: Sporns Must handle Reality of NS!" But you chose something else. That's not necessary is it?

Cheers!
