<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->THE purpose of this letter is to express my displeasure over my birthday celebration at Goldkist beach resort in East Coast. I booked three days and two nights from April 11 to 13 at apartment E10 2 level. I invited 15 friends (Italian, French, English and Singaporean students), plus my girlfriend and me. We were all very disappointed with the overall appearance and presentation of the resort.
Before I went to sleep, I found hair on the bed - this is just to show the level of hygiene and poor service.
In the shower room, there was even a cigarette butt.
On the morning of April 12, I woke up and found rubbish outside. I demanded that it be removed as it was very smelly. But for 45 minutes, I did not see anyone. Under the hot sun, the rubbish became more smelly and attracted a lot of flies. Finally, after my second call to the management, the rubbish was removed. However, there was still a smell from a plastic tank, which was very dirty and broken, and had probably been used for many years.
I decided to check out the same day, as it was dirty everywhere, and not just from the previous night but from months ago.
I checked out at 7pm. I lost one day, which I had paid for, but it is not the money. This is not the impression Singapore would like to give to foreigners like me.
I hope my complaint will lead the resort to change for the better. Matteo Coccoloni
