PMD rider, driver arrested after altercation on road in Tanjong Pagar

SINGAPORE — Two men have been arrested for their suspected involvement in a case of rash act after a video of their altercation made the rounds on social media.
In a media statement on Sunday (Dec 1), the Singapore Police Force said that it had received a report of a traffic incident along Enggor Street in Tanjong Pagar involving a car and a personal mobility device (PMD) on Nov 28.
The driver and PMD rider had argued and acted aggressively to each other before parting ways, the police said.
Officers from the Central Police Division then arrested the 43-year-old driver on Nov 30 and the 36-year-old PMD rider on Dec 1.
If convicted for the offence of rash act, they could be jailed for up to six months, fined up to S$2,500, or both.
Videos on social media that was posted on Nov 28 on the traffic group SG Road Vigilante show a dashcam footage of the car allegedly involved in the incident.
The footage had captured a PMD rider on the roads along Enggor Street.
The video then cuts to a scene where the PMD rider can be seen opening the door of the car and grabbing the driver.
In a reminder to the public, the police said that every road user is expected to observe proper traffic rules and not to take the law into his own hands.
