"We all will have to draw right lessons from this election, and I think every minister will have to take a deep hard look at all our policies, everything we do, how we do, how we execute the policies, how we make sure that our policies reflect the key concerns and priorities of Singaporeans. That we implement with the spirit of the policy in mind rather than just more rigidly by the letter of the law," said Dr Balakrishnan.

"I think in the past we tend to take a more neutral stand. We always felt that we represent more than just the women MP, because we have among our constituents also men, also the young, the elderly and so on. I think we need to have a voice on women's issues within the party to be louder. That I think would probably set the tone going forward," said Ms Fu.

Having an alternative Malay voice in Parliament will help enrich ideas in Singapore's Malay-Muslim community, says Minister in charge of Muslim Affairs, Yaacob Ibrahim.

Dr Yaacob was commenting on the first Malay opposition Member of Parliament - Muhamad Faisal Abdul Manap - who is from the Workers' Party Aljunied team that won in the General Election.

Speaking on the sidelines of a community event on Saturday, Dr Yaacob said the party welcomes debate in Parliament that results in the formation of useful ideas.

Mr Goh said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong can refresh his Cabinet to forge a new Singapore consensus, by rethinking policies and reshaping Singapore with fresh ideas.

He said Team Marine Parade will build a consensus on creating the 4G Home - which stands for a great home, as well as a gracious, generous and environmentally-conscious people.

Of course, esp for the last case, it's the people's voice saying, "Fuck off lah, senile wood block! We have to call a kate spade a spade."

How loud must we shout in their ears?!!

This is the nothing but the FAP stalling for time as they continue their greedy and wayward ways. Instead of doing it openly, they will probably do it more discreetly. Instead of letting in the 900k foreign workers in entire plane loads, they will probably spread them over several more trips. Nothing fundamentally has changed and nothing will as long they are not denied 2/3 majority. The 9 Oppos should continue to pressure the FAP to open their books.
