One of the deepest concerns a resident has in making a decision to vote in an opposition candidate is “what will happen to his estate after the election”.

I advocate the setup of a “Friends of WP” Facebook whereby people who believe in the value of a viable opposition can sign up.

In the event the oppositions win these wards, then the “Friends” will commit to pledging time or money or kind to help in running that estate.

A sort of Residents Committee.

In this case, a Residents Committee formed by people who believe in the value of a first world Parliament, who are prepared to help look after the estates of those who voted for the Oppositions.

We are not politicians but we are willing to help those who take a chance in making a two-party democracy come true in Singapore.

The result is that the peoples of Aljunid and other GRCs may be more willing to take a chance on the oppositions knowing that there are Singaporeans who are willing to volunteer to contribute time, money or kind for their estate’s welfare.

Singapore for this GE has the best chance in many decades of bringing forth at least one GRC for the Oppositions. There are many credible oppositions today. Still the concerns of the residents cannot be denied. There is only so much a political party can do. But if a credible political party can leverage on the desires of those who hope to see the emergence of a two-party system in Singapore, then they can tap on the goodwill of these people to assure the residents of Aljunid that we support their decision to send Sylvia Lim, Chen and LTK to Parliament to represent our voices to the PAP.

This is a form of encouraging "foreign talents" to enter Parliament so that the overall GDP of Parliamentry decisions will be raised.

Circulate this widely to all Aljunied voters. There is nothing to worry about.

Interestingly, I was at the Aljunied MRT station earlier and two middle-aged guys were discussing about this topic of property values. One guy said that whatever LKY said, no difference to him because whether his flat goes up or down in value, no difference. He cannot afford to sell now with its high price. He does not have the cash flow to upgrade, either to condo or bigger flat. He reckons that the people in Hougang and PP cannot be fools if they keep voting the oppostion in - and that IF in fact, the property prices are really lower there, so be it. Maybe younger couples who cannot afford the higher prices in other estates should then consider these two areas.
