TAMIL NADU, India - A 27-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for murdering his mother, who had refused to give him money to buy alcohol, Makkal Osai reported.
P. Selvakumar, an alcoholic, had continuously harassed S. Paapaal, 55, a sweeper at the Tiruchengode Hospital, near Erode in Tamil Nadu, for money to buy liquor.
On Wednesday, she refused and he attacked her with a log, wounding her in the head before running away.
Neighbours who heard the fight called the police, who took a statement from Paapaal. She died later that night.
