Mum jailed for burning kids

A WOMAN was jailed for 10 months by a Community Court on Wednesday for using a heated knife to burn the arms of her two young children on separate occasions.
The 32-year-old woman, who cannot be named to protect the children's identities, admitted to ill-treating her then seven-year-old daughter in 2008 after she caught her stealing tidbits from a shop.
She also admitted burning the left forearm of her eight-year-old son in March last year.
The court heard that the boy had been selling his school stationery to his friend for money since January last year. When the accused found out two months later, she heated a kitchen knife over the stove for a few minutes at home, and pressed the hot knife onto his left hand, burning his forearm.
A divorcee, the woman had custody of her two children then.
The offences came to light when her ex-husband noticed a swelling on his daughter's left temple on June 12 last year. He took her to KK Women's and Children's Hospital for medical examination and made the report the next day.
The accused, who has since re-married and is now four months pregnant, could have been fined up to $4,000 and/or jailed for up to four years on each charge.

The whole community must be made affected to punish a singular fool .

Children are usually given to the mother & not the father.

Mothers might be biologically equipped but may not always be emotionally or socially able to look after children.

is wrong not to name a culprit just bcoz of protecting the victim.
then many culprits can go scotfree liao mah.
the more u protect a culprit the more u harm the victim.

All parents should be made to take a theory and practical test before they are allowed to become parents.
Includes teaching the children how to behave in public places, imparting the correct values, ethics and morals and teaching them to be considerate and helpful to others.
I bet you at least 50% will fail.

Sure to have higher passing rate when someone comes up with a 10 year series,

With kids being brought up by maids, teachers, absentee parents, ...the future for Spore is not very promising.

The most famous family here is dysfunctional -

You have the daughter writing a weekly byline filled with veiled assertions targeted at her own parents. In truth, you must be mad to believe everything she writes.

If only graduates should procreate proactively, then how is it that superior genes have produced an anomaly - a failed instance of Darwin's theory of evolution?

Most people would have stopped working at 70, to take a deserved rest. Some prefer to work till the day they drop dead. Then again, there are some people who just won't die - they will even return if their home is in trouble.
