KUALA LUMPUR: A staff of AirAsia Bhd (AirAsia) died while on duty travel during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Bandung, Indonesia today.
As a result, the flight, AK416, had to be diverted and landed at the Senai International Airport in Johor.
The low-cost carrier, in a media statement, confirmed that flight AK416 from Kuala Lumpur to Bandung was diverted to the Senai airport due to a ‘medical emergency’.
The company said the AirAsia staff on duty was given immediate medical treatment upon landing, but was later pronounced dead by a doctor on the ground.
“The AirAsia family is saddened by the loss of an Allstar and extends our deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased.
“We will provide all necessary support to the family during this bereavement period,” said the company
