I REFER to yesterday's report, 'New facility hastened MP Seng's recovery', in which Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan was quoted as saying that the hyperbaric oxygen treatment hastened my recovery.

I am indeed the beneficiary of this new facility. After each treatment, I felt stronger and better, and my family and friends who visited me could see the visible progress of my condition.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Professor Colin Song, head of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery at Singapore General Hospital, and his team.

During my 28-day stay at Ward 43, the doctors, nurses and staff handled my case, be it medical treatment, patient care or visitors, with professionalism, dedication and friendliness. I must also thank Prof Song for specially coming in immediately after touching down from his overseas assignment to review my case. Also, we are thankful for his patience and care during the briefing with my family members, which was all very reassuring.

The Burns Unit team and the team involved in the hyperbaric oxygen treatment are of a very high standard. Singaporeans can be proud of and have confidence in our health-care system.

You know hor, sometimes I think this Ah Seng is a PAP robot fully mechanized to only take directions & does not have a mind of his own. Always bowing & kowtowing to his masters to say anything that will hold PAP in holy golden light!
