ISIS Claims Responsibility for Attack on Daikundi Residents
The Islamic State (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the attack on Daykundi residents.
On Thursday night, September 12, 2024, ISIS issued a statement on its Amaq news site, claiming that its forces killed 15 Shia individuals and wounded six others.
ISIS reported that the attack occurred in the Qariodal mountain pass, on the border between Daykundi and Ghor provinces.
Earlier, sources informed the Hasht-e Subh Daily that armed men attacked a vehicle carrying Daykundi residents, resulting in 14 deaths and six injuries.
The Taliban in Ghor have not yet commented on the incident.
Hazara and Shia communities frequently face attacks in various provinces, with ISIS claiming responsibility for most attacks against Hazaras.
Meanwhile, the Taliban assert that they provide nationwide security and deny the presence of ISIS in Afghanistan.
