THE mainstream media can meet the Internet challenge by continuing to provide accurate and balanced coverage - not by becoming adversarial or one-sided like some socio-political blogs, Acting Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts Lui Tuck Yew said yesterday.

It should also bring its own content and standards onto new media platforms, something which he noted the main media companies were already doing.

He was speaking at a dialogue on the changing media landscape with some 200 members of the Singapore Press Club.
