Hi

I was renting from this place for a couple of years, but recently, a new management took over and doubled the rent (last year). But earlier this year, they wanted to raise the rent again, so my wallet buay tahan, so ove out.. But now they don't want to pay back my deposit and want to kwailan.. so how? Is there any place I can complain to or help get back my deposit? I don't have a lease agreement because my lease with the old management expired, and because we trust each so we didn't sign a new lease. What can I do? Please advise.

No black-and-white, no enforcement. Unfortunately, you are out of luck here buddy.

Conduct an internet smear campaign and pressure them into returning the deposit? Knock on their office doors everyday until you get the deposit back?

Sometimes, take it as you paid for a lesson in life, and move on.
