Taiwanese PC maker Acer is planning to launch another 500 branch stores in India, our sister newspaper Commercial Times reported on Sept. 11.
In addition to India, Acer said that it is also planning to launch another 1,200 branch stores in China within three years.
Commercial Times reported that Acer's products are available in 859 cities in India at present, while another 4,000 outlets for Acer products will be in place once the plans are completed.
Acer claims a 13.4% share of the computer market in India for second place behind Lenovo with 16.6%.
In response, the Chinese PC manufacturer said that it is confident in its competition with Acer in India, and that there remains major growth potential in the south Asian nation.
