Lee Sasi was attending the all-night rave that drew in a crowd of about 3,000, mostly young Israelis, when Hamas launched their surprise attack Saturday morning, sending festival attendees running for their lives and taking cover in orchards as gunfire rang out for hours.

Sasi was one of 10 people who survived the horrifying attack by hiding under dead bodies for hours, according to messages she sent a friend that were shared with i24news reporter Natasha Raquel Kirtchuk Gutman on Instagram.

In the messages, Sasi tells her friend there were between 30 and 35 people originally in the bomb shelter alive — but by the time she was saved seven hours later, only 10 people came out alive.
Her friend asks if that was how many people were still alive after they were saved and she replies, “Yes after 7 hours being in hiding under dead bodies in the bomb shelters.”
