since nomination day, the incumbent had been drawing flak from all directions, from the rising costs of living to the YOG booboo. i can't help but noticed that the incumbent had been cumbersome in their defenses against all the projectiles hurled at them.
i must mention that this is rather unusual for the well-oiled PAP machinery that we are familiar with, especially when we know that they are very effective with their coordinated attacks and offensive maneuvers that had successfully taken down their political opponents in the past.
granted that the old man is way past his 80s and approaching the 90s, he appears to be sharp as before and his words still seemed to carry much weight, except for the fact that LHL seemed to have taken a direction of his own.
my suspicion is that the architecture of the political moves from the incumbent had originated from the late Mdm Kwa, or it had been conceived together with her help. without this important pillar, the old man wasn't able to convince LHL, thus resulting in the lost of direction in which the offensive could have been orchestrated and executed.
have i been stretching my imagination a lil' too far?
