As a result we have little scholars growing up believing in the hubris of their own elitness. Then when life kicks them in the balls, they go down like a sack of potatos. If a scholar cannot get past simple BGR, can he be relied on in a national crisis?
For the record, Moshe Dayan was an uneducated farmer's son.
