I know some forummers have helped out at elections before so maybe you can answer this question.

Are there people who (despite all the instructions) still fill in the voting form wrongly? Maybe instead of an "X", they tick the party they support? Better still they "X" PAP but put a tick next to oppo? Or have anyone tried colouring the whole box before?

In such situations, are the votes automatically "spoilt" or will the counter try to determine intent?

i also like to know if the vote is considered spoilt if you draw a hyena instead of an "X". I do not suggest that you draw a kangaroo.

To answer your question - A tick or any other funny character for opposition automatically counts as a spoil vote. If it lands in the PAP box, unless it is too ridiculous, it will be count as a PAP vote.

What to do? Vote counters are civil servants.
