A fine is a fine is a fine

ON AUG 2 at 5.45pm, I drove to Ang Mo Kio Street 43 to buy some groceries. After I parked my car, I noticed a Chubb carpark warden checking the parking coupon displayed on the dashboard of a taxi.

When it looked like she was going to key in the car's number into her hand-held device, I went up to her to offer a parking coupon to cover the period the expired coupon had exceeded. I did not wish to see the taxi driver, who was probably having his dinner break, end up getting a parking ticket.

The warden said she could not waive the fine since I was not the owner of the vehicle. When I asked for her name and said that I would lodge a complaint with HDB, she agreed to check with her supervisor. After a short phone call, she said her supervisor concurred with her, and she went ahead and booked the vehicle.

Can HDB and/or its subcontractor Chubb explain the rationale for this carpark warden's insistence on issuing a parking ticket?

so it's like Mdm Chin saw someone was murdered and the murderer got away so she went up to police and asked to be jailed in place of the murderer

and police don't agree :D

What Singapore needs is people like Mdm Chin, not all kinds of elites whose eyes covered by money.

If we use parking slot machines (instead of coupons) and Mdm Chin were to just put a coin in the machine to reset it, this rediculous incident wouldn't have happened.

Unfortunately we prefer to use pigs instead. What's the farking difference between your dollar bill and my dollar bill? Nothing........but then how will a pig know?

If I go to NTUC, drinks a can of coke and realised I have no money to pay, NTUC can stop me leaving n call the police for "theft" right?

What if a good friend came n offer to pay on my behalf. Will I still be a thief, since technically the coke didn't go into his stomach?

That's not the issue. The issue is that by issuing the fine, the warden can meet his quota and the respective organisation can get the extra income from the fine. Simple as that.

Stupid logic ,not the owner of taxi. Then should fine comfort delgro becos that is the true owner !!!:D
I guess that isn't the first time someone place a coupon for another car that is about to get fine. If we keep doing such samaritans
job, the warden company 'income' is affected.

Dear Mdm Chin, may the powers that be bless you with very good health and a long fulfilling life whereever you are. Such acts of kindness are rare these days especially in "you die your business" Singapore.

We weren't told what time the coupon displayed on the cab expired. If it had expired even by a minute, technically the warden is entitled to issue a summons. So the subsequent act of our Miss Good Samaritan is really redundant. If she tries to back-timed the coupon to reflect an earlier timing, wouldn't that amount to cheating URA?

What crap is that? Belanjah stranger is also illegal?

Maybe the supervisor said to the warden, got quota to fill. :oIo:

Do you think the warden's boss would know if the warden were to let it go? - Probably not

Do you think the warden will be farked by his boss if she did not meet her quota? - Definitely Yes

So you have it, its all about dollars and cents and "you die your business because I need to cover my ass" attitude.

My take on this is that she is leaving and her coupon still has remaining time left, so she is giving it to the cab. So technically there is no expired time.

Possible. Good thinking. Women for the vessels of sin that they are, rarely actually do something really nice for strangers.:p;)

It hurts my heart, but I have to say it anyhow. Because I want them to improve.
