There’s a sinking feeling that comes when you realise you’ve lost your belongings. It doesn’t matter if it was your wallet, phone or something inexpensive.
The feeling sucks, period.

Sometimes, it’s entirely your fault because you were careless and forgot about it. Other times, it’s because people think taking other people’s belongings is okay.

S’pore Man Looking For Daughter’s Bag Stolen By 2 Adults At Marina Square Kiztopia

This was the case for a Ho Siew Thong’s daughter, who posted a Facebook post complete with security footage regarding the incident.

In case you can’t see the post, this is what it says:

“Just need assistance to retrieve my daughter’s handbag which was misplaced at Marina Square Kidztopia bench near shoes rack at around 1900 hrs. My daughter realised it was misplaced at 1920 hrs and went back but bag was no longer there. Checked security footage with security personnel and footage shown bag was taken by family of 3. Called my daughter’s mobile phone to try to get the family to return the bag but to no avail. Mobile phone was subsequently switched off. Police report had been made. Appealing to get back the bag as it contained her consession card, mobile phone and some personal items. Last know location of bag and phone was at toa payoh as mobile phone is equipped with “find lost phone function”. Pls help to share and post as I only want to get back the items as family is non contactable now when trying to contact them through my daughter’s mobile phone which was taken together in the bag.”

According to Ho’s Facebook post, he was at Marina Square Kiztopia at around 7pm when his daughter misplaced her bag near the shoes rack.

She realised it was misplaced at around 7.20pm and went to look for it, however, it was no longer there.

He then went to the security staff to ask for the security footage and it clearly showed that that the bag was taken by a “family of 3.”

They then called her daughter’s mobile phone to try to get them to return the bag but it was switched off.

They subsequently made a police report.

The man and woman are seen holding onto the bag and looking at it very briefly.

The man then takes a second to quickly open the bag and peeks inside, while the lady looks unperturbed as if this is an everyday occurrence.

They then unceremoniously stuff it into a big black bag while the little girl, presumably their child looks on.

Ho Only Wants The Items Back

The items in the bag include Ho’s daughter’s concession card, mobile phone and some personal items. Ho is still hoping that they will get the bag back.

According to the “find lost phone function” the last known location of the mobile phone was at Toa Payoh.

He reiterates in the Facebook post that he only wants to get the items back.
I’m disturbed by how casually the items were stolen and in the presence of a child. Of course, these are all unconfirmed allegations and perhaps there is a backstory we aren’t yet aware of.

With the little facts that we have, besides the footage, it’s hard to think of this as anything other than theft. Hopefully, the bag will be returned to the girl.

misplace ownself and yet ownself want an online crusade to shame the takers.. they didnt intentional steal.

The loster better deal with it and stop whining.

Chinese taste in fashion sucks. No wonder the less they wear, the better they look.
