9 arrested for loansharking activities

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested nine persons in seven separate cases for suspected involvement in loansharking activities.
They include seven men aged between 32 and 52 and two women aged 19 and 31.
The arrests were made on June 5 and 6 at Jurong, Ang Mo Kio, Yishun, Hougang and Woodlands.
The suspects include debtors turned runners and those believed to have helped loansharks by performing electronic monetary transactions.
