85 suspects arrested in anti-crime operation

SINGAPORE: Eighty-five suspects were arrested in a two-day anti-crime operation that ended on Friday.
They were caught for offences such as drink driving and voluntarily allowing their bank accounts to be used by unlicensed moneylenders.
The operation was led by Jurong Police Division and supported by the Traffic Police, Central Narcotics Bureau, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority and Singapore Civil Defence Force.
They checked 1,340 persons and 164 vehicles at land checkpoints, as well as multiple locations in the western part of Singapore.
Investigations against all the suspects are ongoing. - CNA/ac
