TEMASEK Foundation has appointed Jennie Chua as its new chairman from Sep 1.
She succeeds Benny Lim, who served as the foundation’s chairman for the past four years since April 2020.
Chua, who has been with Temasek Foundation since its establishment in 2007, is currently the only female on the board of directors for the non-profit organisation under Temasek’s philanthropic arm.

The veteran hotelier, 80, has more than five decades of experience in the hospitality industry, having worked in hotels since 1971.
She was the first female general manager of Raffles Hotel in 1990, and the chief executive of Raffles Holdings – the parent company of Raffles International, which is owned by Temasek Holdings – from 2003 till 2007.
She also helmed the Ascott Group until 2012, and is a co-founder of Beeworks, the company which brought Jollibee Foods to Singapore.

She served as CapitaLand’s chief corporate officer from 2009 to 2012, and in 2009 became the first female chairman of the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce in the chamber’s 187-year history.
A known philanthropist, Chua was formerly the chairman of Community Chest, the fundraising arm of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) from 2000 to 2013. She is currently chairman of arts and culture charity TRCL, which is supported by The Business Times Budding Artists Fund.
In announcing the appointment on Thursday (Sep 5), Temasek Foundation said: “As we welcome Ms Jennie Chua into this role, we look forward to an exciting new chapter of growth for the organisation.”
