SINGAPORE: Police have arrested three men and five women, aged between 26 and 52, for suspected involvement in using forged supporting documents to apply for credit card facilities.
On September 28, a local bank informed the police that it had received several credit card applications using forged Central Provident Fund (CPF) statements and Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) notices of assessment.
The Ang Mo Kio Police Division investigated and rounded up eight suspects on Thursday. A computer, bank credit card application forms, credit cards, forged copies of IRAS notices of assessment and CPF statements were also seized.
Three of the suspects will be charged in court on Friday while investigations against the remaining five suspects are still on-going.
