The aircraft was operated by Jetvalet Sdn Bhd. It left Langkawi International Airport at 2,08pm for Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang Jaya.
"The first contact made by the aircraft with Subang Air Traffic Control Tower was at 2.47pm and landing clearance was given at 2.48pm.
"At 2.51pm, Subang Air Traffic Control Tower observed smoke originating from the crash site, but no mayday call was made by the aircraft. Kuala Lumpur Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Centre (KL ARCC) has been activated to coordinate the search and rescue mission," read the statement.

He said the aircraft crashed into a car and a motorcycle, which had one individual in each vehicle during the crash.
"We believe that all those involved in the incident are dead. There were eight on board and two on the ground... at minimum (10 of them)," New Straits Times quoted him as saying.
A state assemblyman from Pahang and the chief executive officer of an aviation company are believed to be among the 10 killed in the crash.
When asked whether a prominent figure was among the passengers' manifest, Hussein Omar said, "Yes, but we have to confirm (it)."
Malay Mail reported that Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah visited the scene of the crash at 5.35pm.
He was there to assess the situation and receive a briefing from the police.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has confirmed that an aircraft with a total of six passengers and two flight crew members had crashed near City of Elmina, Shah Alam today, 17 August
According to the statement published on its Facebook page at 5.10pm today, the government agency under the Ministry of Transport said the aircraft that crashed has been identified as a Beechcraft Model 390 (Premier 1), registration number N28JV.The aircraft was operated by Jetvalet Sdn Bhd.
