71-year-old arrested for committing obscene acts

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 71-year-old man believed to be responsible for committing an obscene act in public place along Marsiling Lane.
A police press statement said that on May 2, 2013 at 7.10 am, police received a report informing that a man had committed an obscene act in front of a female victim in the vicinity of Marsiling Lane. Officers from Woodlands West Neighbourhood Police Centre responded to the case and arrested the 71-year-old at the incident location.
If found guilty, he may face an imprisonment term which may extend to 3 months, or with fine, or with both.
Commander of Jurong Police Division, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police (DAC) Wilson Lim, commended his officers for the swift arrest. He added that when members of public encounter such persons, they should remain calm and take note of the appearance of the perpetrators, and report to the police as soon as possible.
