7 youths caught for break-ins

SEVEN youths were arrested for committing two separate break-ins into a kiosk at Meridian LRT Station. At about 9.11 pm last Thursday, a kiosk owner at the LRT Station reported that his kiosk was broken into, just a few days after a similar burglary. Investigations and leads from CCTV footages tracked down the identities of all the suspects. The youths had broken in the kiosk by forcing the side door open and had made off with cigarettes and game cards amounting to about $8,500. Three were arrested in the vicinity of Punggol Field and the others in Punggol and Sengkang housing estates. They are believed to have been involved in two other cases of attempted break-ins of kiosks at Cove LRT station and Coral Edge LRT station. The suspects face up to 14 years jail if convicted.
