Cars trapped in flooded 6th Ave carpark: Management says 'not their responsibility'
Heavy rain on Nov 19 left cars parked at Sixth Avenue Centre's basement carpark flooded. Despite this, building management did not think it was their responsibility to inform car owners, according to an irate STOMPer.
Here's what the unhappy STOMPer wrote in an email today (Nov 24):
"This took place at Sixth Avenue Centre's carpark at Bukit Timah Road on Nov 19.
"The video was filmed by a resident staying opposite Sixth Avenue Centre. I am one of the people trying to save the car.
"This was the day Bukit Timah Road was flooded due to the heavy rainfall and clogged drains. Those trying to save the cars are owners of the vehicles parked in the carpark.
"No warnings were issued by the building management that fateful day. The building attendant was standing in front of the car park commenting about the situation with onlookers instead of warning the car owners.
"The building management commented later that it was not their duty to inform car owners if any situations were to arose.
"I was shocked."
