59 arrested in weekend crackdown

A TOTAL of 59 people were arrested in a crackdown on gang-related activities by the police over the weekend. The operation was led by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The island-wide operation started on Saturday evening with arrests made until early Sunday morning.The suspects arrested were aged between 17 and 57.
The arrests took place at various entertainment outlets, pubs, shopping centres, coffee shops and public places at Pending Road, Bangkit Road, Jurong Hill, South Bridge Road, Fajar Shopping Centre, Jurong Point and Boon Lay Shopping Centre.
Investigations against those arrested are on-going.
