SINGAPORE: Singapore reported 54 new COVID-19 infections as of noon on Sunday (Aug 30), including eight cases in the community.
This brings the country's total to 56,771.
The community cases comprise seven Singaporeans or permanent residents as well as one work pass holder, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in its daily preliminary update.
There are also seven imported cases, all of whom had been placed on stay-home notice upon their arrival in Singapore.

But how many are actually sick?

Eight community cases! We are so fucked!

Do the math sir! 1, 2, now 8, then 16, 32, 64, 300, 5000, 6.9mil. We are so fucked!

But it doesn't work that way. All the data shows that the majority of any population are already immune to Covid-19 and of the remaining that are susceptible only a very small percentage actually have any serious symptoms.

Just let it rip like we do the flu and get over it asap.

If it's that mild, why do we still need to wear masks, social distance ourselves, have safe entry, not more than five at gatherings, etc?

All those measures have nothing to do with infection control it's about government control.

Even the so called "case count" is meaningless because PCR testing was never designed as a diagnostic tool on its own.

Stunning new research finds C19 PCR tests are much too sensitive to be useful in assessing spread. "In 3 sets of testing data...compiled by officials in MA, NY & NV, up to 90% of people testing positive carried barely any virus." The implications are huge.

Tests authorized by the F.D.A. provide only a yes-no answer to infection, and will identify as positive patients with low amounts of virus in their bodies.
Your Coronavirus Test Is Positive. Maybe It Shouldn’t Be.
The usual diagnostic tests may simply be too sensitive and too slow to contain the spread of the virus.
