I find the recent announcements about tracetogether for cinemas, malls, etc and limiting dining/gathering 8pax, proposed covid tests for weddings, continued closure of nightspots, etc very draconian. Such measures will destroy our christmas and retailers.

Seriously, we have only 0-3 community cases daily. We are also doing well for the dorm. Life should be back to normal and yet we have to wait till end-Dec for phase 3 (if the situation remains stable).

Our weakest link now is the continued import of visitors from high-risk countries and I don't see how any of the above will help to improve the situation. Is it because we cocked-up early to shame those (including HK) about wearing masks and now we try to show the world that our scholars are WORLDCLASS in implementing such restrictions?

It is like forcing the whole country to only eat leafy vegetables everyday so that we can wipe out diabetes. Can our policymakers understand that the world is not just black and white? There are many shades of greys too.

Are we trying to show off to the world at the expense of our retailers?

Totalitarian shitholes love to implement these 一刀切 ('one knife cut') policies. And don't expect any real debates about it beforehand.

Go out and show your dissatisfaction against the tracer. Posting here and complain is of no use at all. I will not support the tracer and will not use it.

Chris Cuomo scolded for not wearing a mask in his NYC apartment building

Chris Cuomo has apparently been marching around his apartment building without a mask on — despite what he preaches on his primetime cable news show.
Management at Cuomo’s Manhattan apartment building sent the CNN anchor a letter, obtained by FOX News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” that warned him for repeatedly violating the order, and threatened him with a $500 fine.

“You have been observed entering and exiting the building and riding the elevator without the required face coverings,” reads part of the August 6 letter.

“Even though staff members have asked you to comply with this requirement, you have refused to do so. This is a violation of the Executive Order, building policy, and places other residents and our staff at risk. There are no exceptions to this rule, and you are required to comply.”

Cuomo was one of the coronavirus’ early highly visible victims, broadcasting from his Hamptons basement after testing positive for COVID-19 in March.

Shortly after the diagnosis, his older brother New York Governor Andrew Cuomo issued an executive order that masks must be worn in public places throughout the state.

Just last week, Chris Cuomo slammed President Trump’s appearances sans mask while recovering from the virus in an apparently hypocritical statement.

“We may have grown up in the same place, but we are very different people. But this I can relate to. I got my wife and son sick just like he did. But with me, it crushed me. It left me ashamed and super sensitive to keeping people safe,” the anchor said.

It’s not the first time the anchor has been chastised for not following protocol; Cuomo got into a verbal altercation with a cyclist on Long Island who called him out for not quarantining in April.

The Post has reached out to Chris Cuomo for comment.

The real reason behind is to trace the whereabouts of us. Esp those Oppo supporters in you know where areas.

Masks don't make a scrap of difference so there is no point forcing everyone to wear them.

My work is related to the PPE industry. It is in my biased opinion that disposable masks offer a lot more benefits than harm.

Let me share a local example. Usually a childcare can have 2-5 HFMD outbreaks (in different age groups) per year. If you speak with the business owners, this year, there are hardly any, because kids are wearing masks.

US's problem is that they don't wear masks (mandatory). Singapore's earlier issue was also because we told people only wore masks when sick.

Wearing masks allow us to continue most normal activities and in turn, saves jobs. Social Distancing ruins jobs and the biggest loophole now, is that we are still flying in people from high-risk countries.

Why u didn't question the test kits. You trust the test kits? I don't.

Save what jobs? Retail, fnb and entertainment is still going strong, they just went online. To be a survivor u got to be adaptable.

Social distancing also creates good jobs, like ambassadors temp taker swabbers all pay very well given the economic climate now. Why u want smash other rice bowl?

It is no big deal getting Covid. Trump and his family are all still around aren't they and so are 57,000 who caught it in Singapore. Only 27 died. Dengue has killed more people.

I have no stats for HFMD but if you look at the data for mask wearing you'll find that they don't make a scrap of difference.

In fact countries where masks are not required such as NZ have a far better success rate of quelling the infections.

I have no field knowledge with the test kits.
Test kits is a tool that can be manipulated. Because the out come of the test determine the economy, your freedom and your life. If you want to know the true number and case of covid, you have to check on and question the test kit.

This company A produce the test kit. This company is controlled by its shareholders or politicians. The sharholders want this country economy to be hampered or limited. Just taint the test kits to get a whole lot of false positive. Simple as that.

The only way is not to take the test and go against any control by THE PEOPLE. THE PEOPLE is the key to solve this whole control BS.

Not every body goes to the doctor for slight discomforts, and not every one who is infected will develop severe symptoms so not every person down with flu or dengue is going to be recorded. Actual total dengue figures could be underreported, so you have to appreciate that most statistics is a lie.

I don't remember the source but I read the covid test like all tests is a sliding scale, not a binary result. So authorities have to decide quite arbitrarily what the tipping point could be. I reckon they prefer to err on the safe side - more false positives is better than having to deal with outbreak spiralling out of control. Which is why things look way less serious than it really is. Think of it as getting an infection before antibiotics are invented. People are much likely to survive after the fact. We don't yet have antibiotics. You should fear it.

We do not fear it. The more fear u have, the messier it become. How the virus goes about depends on us. You fear it, it will become worse. You brave it and hack care it, it will disappear.
