Maybe the anti-carbon globalist cult was trying to remove the insulating layer of CO2 from the atmosphere, deliberately causing such extreme temperatures. But in their inverted reality world, they're gaslighting the people by insisting that it was CO2 which caused this, thereby necessitating the reducing of carbon footprint/emissions.
