A STOMPer, who recently dined with five other business associates at a Chinese restaurant along Boat Quay, was taken aback when the bill was presented.

The meal, which included drinks, rice, a bowl of soup for each diner and four dishes to share had come with a total price tag of $416, a price that the STOMPer feels is unjustified.

The STOMPer says:

“A simple dinner at Boat Quay cost us a bomb instead!

“Wanting to eat Chinese food with some business associates, 6 of us went into a Chinese restaurant along Boat Quay.

“Four dishes and a small bowl of soup for each person cost us $416 in the end! Can you believe it?”

Boat Quay food is not meant to be expensive. You can still find cheap food there, like Golden Cafe and some coffee shop Zhi Char for chinese food.

They ask for it because prices are written in the menu, or they could ask if its not.

In MM Lee's words, "They went in with eyes wide open".

what's so expensive? cheapskate business fella. want to give treat go to downtown famous Peach Garden Rest or Morton Steak House lah. 6 people easily cost $1000...$416 also wanted to complain. no wonder singaporean businessmen sucks cheapskate big time!
how to do business like this? complain about this and complain about that!

might as well go to the hawker centre and treat your business friends all the stalls there lah! no more than $40!!!!

My advise is if you find it expensive and not very delicious, then don't ever go back. Anyway, you should have check out the pricing first if you cannot afford.

Well ....if the cost of food is not that high ...... how do you think they are going to pay the rental there ?
