JOHOR BARU: Forty foreigners were detained in raids by the state Immigration Department at three separate locations here in Johor Baru.
During one of the raids at a restaurant in Johor Jaya yesterday, an Indonesian woman was found hiding in a drain.
State Immigration deputy assistant director II Amzari Abdul Jalil said the foreigners were detained during Ops Sapu which began at around 10pm at Taman Johor Jaya and Taman Daya.
“We detained 24 Indonesians, eight Myanmars, seven Nepalese, and one Bangladeshi – aged between 55 and 21 years – during the five-hour raid.
