PUBLIC TIP-OFF: Police seize RM1.3m worth of drugs and suspects' vehicles

KAJANG: POLICE busted a laboratory and seized about RM300,000 worth of drugs following the arrest of three suspects, including a woman, at a house in Kampung Orang Asli Kachau, Ulu Semenyih, here, last Friday.

Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Ab Rashid Ab Wahab said they raided the premises at 4pm following a tip-off.

"At the time of the raid, the three of them were busy processing the drugs. "We found two transparent packets containing what we believe to be heroin weighing about 908.7gm and three slabs of heroin weighing about 1.1kg," said Rashid, adding that several drug paraphernalia were also seized.

Checks revealed that one of the suspects, a 31-year-old man, had three previous convictions.

"He is married to the woman aged 25. The third suspect is an 18-year-old youth who is believed to be the couple's business partner. "They have been remanded for six days to facilitate investigations."

The case is being investigated for drug trafficking, which carries the mandatory death sentence. In Muar, police arrested a 49-year-old man and seized drugs worth about RM1 million, vehicles and drug processing equipment at a house in Jalan Salleh here last Friday. It was learnt that police raided the house at about 12.30pm after a tip-off and surveillance.

Muar deputy police chief Superintendent Sahadan Jaafar said police believed the house was used as a drug manufacturing and packing centre, which began operations six months ago.
