4 caught with drugs worth RM870,000
KUALA LUMPUR: Police scored a major success against drug syndi-cates with the arrest of four suspects and the seizure of RM870,000 worth of drugs in two separate raids here on Saturday.
They first arrested a couple, believed to be a husband-and-wife team, at an apartment in Bandar Sunway Semenyih, where they seized 996g of syabu worth RM150,000, 12.5kg of heroin, two handphones, RM5,900 and a car.
City police chief Datuk Mohmad Salleh said the apartment was believed to have been used to pack the drugs before distribution in the Klang Valley.
Also on Saturday, acting on a tip- off, police raided a five-star hotel in the city and nabbed two men and seized 2kg of syabu, worth RM300,000.
"We believe the suspects had been operating for a year and they used luxury hotels for their operations," he said.
