4 arrested for selling fake event tickets

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested four men, aged between 24 and 46, on suspicion of dealings involving fake tickets for an event held at Sentosa on December 13 and 14.
In the first case, on December 14 at about 2am, police were conducting anti-crime rounds at Sentosa's Siloso Beach when they spotted two men behaving suspiciously.
Police found over 260 event tickets, believed to be forged, in the possession of the pair, aged 24 and 29.
In a statement on Monday evening, police said another 310 tickets and a rubber stamp were recovered at Jalan Rajah.
It said preliminary investigations revealed that the two suspects had obtained the tickets from an unknown man and failed to sell them to event-goers at Sentosa before they were spotted by the police.
In another case, on December 14 at about 11.45 pm, police received a report about a man selling fake event tickets at Sentosa.
Officers arrived at the scene shortly and arrested a 46-year-old man.
Through follow-up investigations, police arrested his suspected accomplice, a 29-year-old man, at Geylang Road on December 15 at about 7.30am.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the two suspects possessed some 30 event tickets, believed to be forged.
The two suspects claimed to have bought the tickets from an unknown man and had sold at least nine tickets to event-goers at Sentosa before their arrest.
Police said investigations against the four suspects are ongoing. - CNA/nd
