3m-long King Cobra captured
KANGAR: Civil defence volunteers caught a King Cobra more than three-metre-long in a village in Padang Besar on Saturday night.
Perlis Civil Defence Department disaster/operations management branch officer Mohd Razani Zainuddin said they rushed to Kampung Tersusun Padang Besar after being summoned at 6.40pm.

The volunteers managed to overpower the snake outside one of the houses at 7.50pm, he added.
Since October, volunteers of the Perlis Civil Defence Department have caught 54 snakes, both poisonous and non-poisonous.
Mohd Razani said most of the reptiles were caught last month when the massive floods forced them out of their nests and they ended up in villagers’ homes.
Perlis has a snake and reptile farm which is a major tourist attraction. — Bernama
