Police raided four premises in Kuala Lumpur last night - for the fourth time in two months - and smashed an illegal gambling activity with the arrest of 32 people. They also seized 132 computers and RM1,904 in the 10pm raid at the premises in Danau Kota, Setapak.
Four workers, one of them a woman, and 28 men, all aged between 22 and 24, were picked up in the raid at the premises which were unlicensed. "Each of the premises was equipped with closed circuit television cameras and entry required password activation," said Kuala Lumpur police anti-vice, gambling and secret societies division staff officer, DSP Razali Abu Samah.
Also last night, the police raided two premises in Taman Intan Baiduri, Kepong, and arrested five men aged between 22 and 24 engaged in illegal gambling, Razali said, adding that the police also seized 51 computers and RM1,109. "All the suspects were brought to the Sentul district police headquarters, and the six premises would be sealed," he said.
