Police have arrested 19 men and 11 women aged between 18 and 61 for suspected involvement in loansharking activities.

On March 20 and 21, through follow-up investigations, officers from the Clementi Police Division arrested the suspects.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects had opened bank accounts and given away their Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards and Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) to loanshark syndicates to facilitate their businesses.

Investigations against the 30 suspects are currently ongoing, but it is believed that the 30 suspects are from different syndicates.
