3 women arrested for series of shop thefts islandwide

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested three women for their suspected involvement in a series of shop thefts believed to be committed islandwide.
On May 25 at about 5.30pm, the police said they received a report on a case of shop theft which occurred in a shopping mall located along Harbourfront Walk.
Officers from Clementi Police Division responded to the scene. With the aid of CCTV footage and assistance from the store manager, the police managed to establish that the three suspects may be involved in other shop theft cases prior to their arrest.
Police have recovered an assortment of clothing and apparel which are believed to be stolen by the three suspects. The total value of the items recovered is about $2876.40.
The suspects will be charged in Court on May 27. The offence carries a maximum jail term of seven years' imprisonment, or fine, or both.
