26 tourists hurt as bus skids
KUALA LUMPUR: Twenty-six foreigners were injured after a bus skidded at the 17th kilometre of the Karak Highway. The bus driver and a local tourist guide were also injured in the 1.25am accident yesterday. The bus was ferrying 42 tourists from China and Hong Kong down to Kuala Lumpur from Genting Highlands.
Bentong police chief Supt Rosli Abdul Rahman said the bus skidded and hit the divider before going to the other side of the road. It came to a stop after hitting the hillside. The driver, tourist guide and the injured foreigners were rushed to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment. Supt Rosli said the injured were treated for minor injuries. The foreigners who were not injured were sent to their hotels in Kuala Lumpur.
