SINGAPORE: Police have arrested 21 people in an island-wide operation targeting illegal betting activities.

The operation was led by police officers from the Criminal Investigation Department and the Police Intelligence Department.

Simultaneous raids were conducted in Serangoon, Yishun, Choa Chu Kang, West Coast, Bukit Batok, Bukit Panjang and Sembawang.

Cash of about S$250,000, 25 mobile phones, 10 computers, 13 fax machines and notebooks and pieces of paper with illegal betting entries were seized in the course of the operation.
