Pretty woman, but ugly behaviour: She attacks female security guard and even kicks her in the groin after evading taxi fare

Stomper Eyeza alerted the Stomp Team to two viral Facebook videos depicting a woman brutally hitting a taxi driver and kicking a female security guard, simply because she refused to pay the taxi fare in Singapore.

The first video shows the male taxi driver grabbing onto the woman's handbag, afraid that she would try to escape.

The woman reacts by hitting the cabby and asking him repeatedly to let go of her handbag. The woman is then heard saying, "I have a lot of money!"

She then shouted profanities at the driver and challenged him to call the police.

In the second video, the woman is spotted hitting a female security guard who tried to intercede and help.

A worker from a nearby restaurant is seen holding both women's arms to prevent another physical fight from breaking out.

The taxi driver is heard shouting, "Oi! She used the phone to hit her (security guard) head eh!"

The woman, who was wearing a pair of high heel shoes, then lifted her right leg and kicked the security guard in her groin.

The security guard bravely stood there and held the woman's hands to prevent her from further hitting anyone, while the aggressive woman continued to taunt and hurl vulgarities.

Towards the end of the video, the female security guard is seen showing her hand that is scarred and slightly bloodied from the attack.

A businessman got into an accident along Old Airport Road on Jun 2, 2014, and attempted to flee, even driving off with a motorist on his bonnet when the latter tried to prevent him from leaving.

The man, Edward Loh Teik Khoon, 49, was sentenced to eight weeks’ jail, fined $600 and banned from driving for 2 years, reports
Lianhe Wanbao. http://www.zaobao.com.sg/znews/singapore/story20171214-818870

Loh faced four charges, of which he claimed trial to three — driving recklessly as to be likely to cause hurt to Mr Edwin Heng Yong Mong, 52, failing to render assistance after causing Mr Heng to be injured, and failing to stop after the accident.

The court heard that on the day of the incident, Mr Heng and another driver, Mr Poh Chin Aik, 42, were driving along Old Airport Road towards Joo Chiat Road before 8.20pm.

The two stopped at the traffic lights near the Dunman Road junction, with Mr Heng’s car behind Mr Poh’s.

Loh’s car suddenly rammed into the back of Mr Heng’s vehicle and caused it to move forward, hitting Mr Poh’s car.

The impact caused Mr Heng to be thrown against his seat belt before he recoiled and hit the headrest.

He was also disorientated, had difficulty breathing and suffered pain at the back of his head.

Mr Poh’s spectacles fell off upon the impact, and he experienced numbness in his right hand.

His wife who was in the front passenger seat suffered chest pain too.

Loh attempted to flee after the collision, and Mr Heng quickly alighted and stood in front of his car to stop him from leaving.

Loh did not stop, and court documents revealed that he had driven with Mr Heng on his bonnet in a zigzag manner for about 100m to 200m.

Claiming that he had drunk a can of beer before the accident, Low denied driving rashly.

However, Judge Ong Ong Chin Rhu said that Loh’s manner of driving gave the distinct impression that he was trying to throw Mr Heng off his bonnet.

Loh could have been jailed up to a year and/or fined up to $5,000 for rash driving likely to cause hurt to any person.

The maximum penalty driving without due care and attention is a six months’ jail and a $1,000 fine.

For failing to render assistance and failing to stop, Loh could have been fined up to $1,000 or jailed up to three months for each charge.

SINGAPORE - Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan went off script in his opening address at the fourth joint forum on infrastructure maintenance on Thursday (July 27) morning to take issue with the press.

He said he did not like the way the press has been covering the resignalling project "because they've magnified the problem unfairly".

"Even the main media have turned tabloid. Yes, exciting and so on... frightening readers," Mr Khaw, who is also Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure, said, in what could be seen as an oblique reference to newspapers such as The Straits Times.

In his off-the-cuff remarks, Mr Khaw said resignalling was "a very complex" task. But the media, he said, "think it's so easy... like holding a pen and writing a few articles, and get the signalling done".

"I wish it was so simple. If it were so simple, they don't need us. We can ask the reporter to run the train system," he said to laughter in the audience.

In response, The Straits Times editor Warren Fernandez said: "We are aware of the complexities involved in the resignalling process even as normal operations have to continue. We have reported on that, but we also have to report on the difficulties that crop up along the way, and the impact they have on commuters facing disruptions."

Sales and marketing manager Ashley Wu, 37, whose commute has been disrupted by the breakdowns and delays, said: "It's not as if the press has been reporting things that are not happening.

"Interviewing people about how the breakdowns are affecting their daily lives is not being sensational."

Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy research fellow Hawyee Auyong said: "The experience of many commuters recently is disruption on almost a daily basis. If press coverage doesn't match everyday experience, then the press loses credibility."

Khaw Boon Wan has not read history.

Secured signal really is best sent with handwritten notes as in Prim 6 when you sent the love signal in a handwritten paper and delivered direct by hand.

Since ancient days, we never ever had signaling problems. The Mongols of Ghengis Khan sent signals on horseback and they conquered the world. Through reading Korean history from kdrama (Su Tong Yau), they use fire and a blanket to create some signals - that's easy!

Today with computers, there is the C method of programming a pipe - just redirect the "stdin" and "stdout"; you would then have the two ends of the pipe conduit to process signals. Their MRTC subcontracted C pipe programming (1000 C lines of codes) at a cost of many millions to a dumb company.
